Anyone who has seen Borat with any sense of what’s right and wrong knows he is offensive and juvenile and crude and may be a whole list of many more adjectives but funny is not one of them. This is the worst character played since Andew Dice Clay. He was offensive but he never crossed the line and humiliated people on purpose.
Borat crosses the line every time and there are people who think it is funny. What is really a problem in American journalism is when a movie critic says the Borat movie was offensive, repulsive, politically incorrect and very juvenile but it is funny.
Well, would they say the same if President Bush went around insulting the American people and humiliating them as he travels the country but along the way he says and does some “ Jackass” type stunt and they may be funny would they be accepted by the American public? The answer to that is no.
Maybe he is funny because…. No there is no reason why he is funny. He is offensive because he is insulting, rude, and obnoxious and why people went to see his film and make him the number one movie the weekend it opened. Well, there is no accounting for taste.
