There has not been this much backlash from a character in a long time. What can be done? Well, there are several ways to go about it. It is pretty obvious that the character is not going to change at all. Maybe the lawsuits against him will change the context of the character a little. Hopefully the people who have filed lawsuits will continue with them and call more attention to the fact the character goes way too far.
The only sure way to see a one hit wonder with Borat is if people just stop giving him attention, if they stop booking him on TV shows and stop going to his movie. Unfortunately, that won’t happen for one reason: GREED.
The industry who created Borat and the TV shows and events that hire him, of course are going to keep hiring him because he bring rating and ratings mean money. No studio or company is going to stop using a moneymaker like Borat at least not now. Right now he is still hot and marketable. Maybe when he has to pay out huge amounts of money in lawsuits, the novelty of Borat will wear off.
Right now too many people are making money off of Borat. You have heard the saying, money talks BS walks. For now it’s all about the money.
